Nikki currently has 470 photos of 259 Australian bird species on Bushpea.
Nikki was born in Brisbane, Queensland in 1980. She is Larry's eldest daughter and has three young children of her own.
In July 2009 Nikki made a big mistake and her life has changed irrevocably because of it - she went on a bird photography trip with her father, her uncle Vik and fellow Bushpea photographer Geoff to Bowra Station (near Cunnamulla)
Nikki at the time only had a superficial interest in birds and Larry warned her that she might be bored while the others were busy searching out willing feathered subjects. Nikki's reply was that only 'boring people' get bored and that she would be able to entertain herself adequately.
To assist with this Vik lent her a spare camera of the point and shoot variety which got her taking a few happy snaps and then Geoff lent her his old Canon 400D with a decent zoom lens on it.
The next few days were happily spent with all four persons, cameras in hand, piling out of their vehicles at various points around Bowra and each disappearing in a different direction in pursuit of photogenic birds.
Nikki did surprisingly well at seeking out birds and sneaking around the bush (she was so sneaky she even surprised a fox at close quarters) and she took many good photos.
Nikki is now well and truly addicted to bird photography and owns her own Canon 50D camera. She now haunts various birding spots around Brisbane and family car trips with her long-suffering partner Dave and the children are often punctuated by a yell of ""Dave, quick stop!"" followed by Nikki diving out with her camera and disappearing into roadside bushes.
