Driving slowly along the Strzelecki Track, forty-five kilometers north-east of Lyndhurst, we saw this Inland Dotterel near the edge of the road.
It was not by chance that we were checking out this particular stretch of road. A day earlier we had met Kay Parkin and Eddie Smith of Adelaide, also on an Easter birding trip in the area, and they had told us of their discovery of this bird an hour earlier.
They gave us a precise location and we headed straight out to it but we didn't see any sign of an Inland Dotterel that day.
Now, 24 hours later, we were back again, checking the same location and this time here it was, loitering at the edge of the road.
Many thanks, Kay and Eddie, for helping us to get this great bird. We hope your trip to Iron Knob was very successful.
